Post Show me the Gears

I purchased a set of 410 gears, thats all I purchased. I am to take it 200 miles to have them installed Friday they can get my speedometer matched. (there is no local performance shop) I see a lot of people tearing up gears after upgrading. My car is an everyday driver 00' SS M6 as I cant get myself to drive my honda(supposed to be the everyday driver car) I have a modified ram air pkg and exhaust so far. My question is should I look forward to continously replacing gears? I will not really race until I have a few more mods. Where Im from if you are not pushing around 370HP you are not ready (Florence/Darlington SC).I have a way to go but soon...I will be there.
Friday is payday, and I will be purchasing headers as I am told that should be my next mod. Any suggestions? I can currently put no more than 1300.00 in the set. I do not believe in purchasing the highest priced thing I believe in purchasing the best thing. I will wait until another pay day if I have to. I just would like to get it right the first time.
Thanks,
Tone

Just about two days ago, I busted my second set of 4:10s in my car, which is very similar to yours. Now I'm hunting for a rig that will take more abuse so that I can stop dropping money on gears once a year. My advice would be to invest in a tougher setup, like a 12-bolt, from the very beginning. I'm currently doing some research to find out what a guy has to pay for such a thing, and I'll try to remember to come back and post what I find here for you, if you're interested.

Good luck,
