Rear End

I have new gears but not everything in a rear end (in not sure what everthing is could you tell me) and I was thinking of putting a 100-125 shot of Nx on in the spring, you can look at my mods in my sig, do you think my rear end will hold for mostly street use, ocassional track. That would be around 500 RWHP, can it handle it? i really dont want to get a new rear end with only 5k miles.
thanks

Your rear end will not hold 500hp. You are lucky to have not killed it yet. If you really hooked hard, I would bet you would tear that rear end up as it sits now. Go 12 bolt.

With Nittos, it's iffy. If you don't ever run at a track and do most of your runs from a roll then it might hold up for a while. If you plan on running it and trying to get a good ET (burnout and a hard launch) then start saving your money because it will break, it's just a matter of when. I know a few people that have broken the 10-bolt with Nittos and way less than 500rwhp. It only took a few hard launches...and that was on a track that doesn't hook very well either.

Just be careful, don't try racing your shadow from every stoplight and it should be alright, at least for a while.

And just FYI, a 12-bolt is a pretty good investment, it will handle a lot more abuse than the 10. IOW, you won't have to worry all the time.

Yes, a 12-bolt is about $2k. Like I said though, it's worth it especially if you're running around with roughly 500rwhp. You will most likely end up buying one sooner or later, whether you want to or not.
