Quiet Hi-Flow exhaust?

Hey guys, I am a new LS1 Owner, and I am trying to find a fairly quiet high flow exhaust system. I had a loud system on my old car, and kind of got tired of it, but I still want the HP gains, and a little more agressive tone. Any suggestions would be great.

Get a loudmouth, you won't even know that it's there.... ;)

Seriously though, maybe try Borla, simply because they are adjustable and so you can change it to fit your mood. Quiet when you want it to be, bad@ss when you want it to be. Search for sound clips of different systems, they are all over the net. Good luck with your decision.

SLP Dual Dual, Or Hooker are fairly quiet until you get into them...

In addition to the SLP D/D and Hooker, you may also want to check out Magnaflow and Dynomax. Both offer good performance with mellower tones.

The Borla XS series are supposed to be very quiet as well. I chose the Magnaflow 14266/14267 series- high flow and high quality but quiet at low to mid revs. Also, checkout Hooker MAXflow.

Mufflex w/ the spintech muffler instead of the flowmaster.

Corsa cat-back is really nice. It is a little louder than stock but has that throaty, hollow, powerful sound to it, not just really loud. It's also nice from the inside. Smooth and no rattling. At cruising speeds the engine is at a constant tone and that can get a little annoying at first but I supose you would get used to it. There are sound clips on the Corsa website.

It's really tough to experience the exhaust sound through sound clips. Especially if you have a cheap set of speakers. Unless you can experience someone elses ride, you're not going to know what you got until you hear it on your car.

I'll second that. Exhaust clips are cool, but don't give you any idea in hell as to what the exhaust will sound like when it's on your car.

But yeah, if you want hi-flowing and quiet, get Magnaflow. Corsa is also supposed to be decently quiet, but still throaty and aggressive at WOT, but also more expensive. I wouldn't go with Borla period if you want quiet, even with the plate closed it's still loud.

the obvious answer is borla adjustable catback:D :D :D

I was leaning towards the Borla Adjustable, simply because I could change how it sounds, but how quiet is it with the full plate? I don't really care about the noise outside, it's the interior noise I don't like. I want to be able to roll up the windows and cruise down the highway in peace.

mine have no plates and flp headers with no cats...at idle its really really quiet cant even hear it in car

on highway at 70 its fine too

when u go above 2300 rpm it starts to get loud....and with the almost closed plate its very very quiet

Who needs a cat-back? Get some cheap hooker LTs and throw out the rest.

Blue Jay Feb 25, 2003 04:48 PM

Yea, I am sure that is REALLY quiet.
