proper plug gap and larger oil filter #

what is the stock plug gap for the LS1?
i got the NGK tr55 plugs with .50 gap, seems i remember hearing the proper gap is .55

and i know there is a larger capacity oil filter that replaces the standard filter on the ls1...what is the number on that.

thanks

I'm about 99% sure the factory spark plug gap is .060. I'll check it and get back to ya.

Here are all the filter numbers from autozone's website. This is the filter used on the 6.0L 3/4ton pickups. It's what I use on my car and is about 1" to 1.5" longer than the stock LS1 filter. The bottom of the filter sits just even with the bottom of the oilpan.

STP S3675

BOSCH 3423

MOBIL M1-206

FRAM PH3675

AC-DELCO PF59

K&N HP-2006

I use the ACC Delco PF 59 (fhey changed the number, it used to be PF58) - the filter fits just fine. Acc. to the AutoZone oil filter list it's for a 91 Caprice (???).

I never used KN oil filters - don't know if they're worth the money. Some filter manufacturers claim that their filter catch smaller particles. Well, that's fine but may plug up the filter ....

They are actually good filters...espcially with that but on the top of it. In one of my classes we 'disected' a bunch of oil filters, K&N's are actually good....

Yep factory gap is .060 and I gap mine at .050. This was something that we tried years ago and it has stuck for me.
NGK tr55s gapped at .050 work great in both of our LS1s.

I left mine at .50 when I replaced them a couple months ago and haven't noticed any difference.

Be careful not to get a filter that hangs below the pan. My friend ripped his off driving over something.
