programmers?

I have a '98 z28 and i was literally given a brand new superchips programmer. It says on the box it works for a '97-'98 ls1, however I heard hypertech made the only programmer for a '98. can you guys help clear this up for me? thanks.

Re: programmers?

I think that's a typo error on the box? If it said for '96 - '97, or '98 - '99, it would make sense, but '97 is the LT1, '98 is the LS1, so I don't see how the same programmer would work for those 2 years!?? I guess plug it in and see if it works!?

...actually, maybe it's for '97 & '98 LS1's, including C5's? That might exlain it?

Re: programmers?

That's what I thought (about the c5's), but do you think it would work for my car as well. Here's a hint, on the box it has a pic of a c5 vette, an ls1 camaro, a formula firebird, and a chevy or gmc truck.

Re: programmers?

its for 97 vette and 98 f body, 97 vette ls1 pcm is the same as 98 f body, 99 and newer f bady pcm's are totally different than the 97-98 ls1 pcm
