Problem with my LS1 Formula :(

Hey all, I really need some help here. I will try to make a long story short.

A month ago, I replaced my stock plugs with NGK TR55's. My check engine light came on 3 weeks later and I found out that 2 wires were loose. So I plugged them back in and I thought all was OK. Yesterday, I went WOT at 25 mph. At 40mph I lost almost all power until about 50mph. My car was seriously crawling from 40 - 50mph and then I was on the go like normal after that. Today, I tried it again and it did the same thing. If I take off from a standstill, it is fine. It happens when I go WOT at 25 to 30 mph.

What has me worried is my check engine light did not come on and I have people telling me it could be the rear-end, the transmission, etc. I laid into it from 55mph to 125mph and it is smooth as can be. I am at a complete loss here and I probably won't sleep again tonight. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

You may be using inferior quality of wires replace your coil and/or check clearance of your plugs.

I am using stock wires and I heard they are fine until you start diving into big power adders. I am going to have my mechanic check it out on Monday.

undo your battery connection for a few minutes. Or reset your PCM... turn the car to the on position, but don't start it, then pull the PCM bat and PCM ign fuses, let it sit like that for 10 minutes, then turn the car off, put the fuses back and try i tthen.

Are you trying to say that my timing might be off because I have been running my car for a few weeks with 2 wires loose? Also, if I reset it, will my HPP settings be messed up?

Could be, the car might have leaned out.

Re: Problem with my LS1 Formula :(

Well, after I unplugged the battery and then plugged it back in after 10 minutes, I couldn't get it to do what it did before. I am still debating on whether to swap out the tr55s.

My mechanic was supposed to be back today from his vacation but he wasn't around. I will pick his brain tomorrow and see what he says.

Thank you to everyone who responded to this thread. I really appreciate it.

NGK TR55s have worked great for me in both of our LS1 f-bodeis. It isn't the sparkplugs.

LOL! It hasn't been a problem since I pulled the battery for 10 minutes. Tomorrow, I am going to make sure I didn't lose my HPP settings.

Re: Problem with my LS1 Formula :(

you shouldn't... pulling the battery won't reset your PCM, it would have to be reflashed to lose your settings.
