Pro-Kit Springs the same for '93-97 as '98-02?
Pro-Kit Springs the same for '93-97 as '98-02?
The reason I ask is b/c I came upon a set of LT1 springs for really cheap, and I'd like to have them installed on my LS1. I thought I'd read before that the spring rates were different between the two b/c of engine weight differences or something. Is this true, or are they the same? I also saw that SLP sells their lowering springs for all years of fourth gens, w/ the same part number. So I take that to mean it's the same spring for LT1's and LS1's? Anyone w/ some experience that can shed some light on this for me? Thanks!
I don't know for sure, but I have the Pro-kit for my '01Z. I had a freind that put a Sportline for a '99, which should be more of a drop, on his '95. My car was slight lower after that. So an LT1 spring may lower it considerably more. Not sure though.
The rear might work, but the front springs for an LT-1 are stiffer due to the heavier engine. LS-1 motors are lighter so the spring rate is diffrent. I'm sure they would go on, but weather or not you would get a drop out of it, I don't know
I don't really think it has anything to do with Engine weight. for a long time after '98/LS1 in the fbody there was only one Eibach pro for Fbody set. only recently have the spring rates changed and the new springs rates are suprising close to the 1LE springs don't ya think?
