Question Help Installing Hurst Shifter

I told my self on this car I would mod it, and I just bought a hurst shifter. It seams easy to install my only question is, in the insturctions it says I may need to replace the Plastic bushing. I figure what the hell replace it anyways. I called pontiac the lady said shes not sure what that is. Does anyone know whats its correct name is, she also said since the trans am is gone and they hardly sell stick that part may not be in.
Also if anyone else has any tips or tricks to throwing it in, you can reply.

I looked it up in my GM manuel to get the name and it wasn't even listed. I went to the Chevy dealer parts department and had them look it up , and it was in their breakdown of the trans, they even had it in stock. But that was a while ago and I cant find the paperwork for the p/n, so try a GM parts dept. (walk in)

Don't bother, the nylon bushing is so tough it never wears out! I've road raced for years on a bushing with about 10 million shifts on it... Don't waste your money!
