Porting FAST INTAKE

Does anyone have any experience/ advice/ instructions on porting a FAST intake? (For my 402 going into my 2000 SS vert)

I truly respect and support the true masters who do this for a living, but I just have not got any cash or time. I also understand you can just as easily screw it up as help it.

I will NOT be taking it apart, just want to port/smooth what I can get to, like the TB tunnel.

Question...Inside the outer ports of the runners, there is a little wedge shaped step that looks like it could be smoothed off...but then again it might be important to leave it alone for velocity or spin...

Anybody? Please PM me if you are more comfortable not sharing "trade secrets" on the web...I won't be sharing it with anyone else either.

Thanks,
Ram

Thumbs up Re: Porting FAST INTAKE

You are right... but I guess it's serious...

TTP LS2 402 stroker, FAST 90/90, medium sized (for now) custom cam by Billy at CC, New style RHS Pro Elite 225 Gen 3 heads (338cfm!), T&D shaft mount rockers, Full Aeromotive fuel system front to back, Callies Racemaster crank, Diamond pistons, Scat rods, (all forged internals and ARP), Kooks 1 3/4" LTs and Y, electric cutout, new 12 bolt, McCleod twin disc clutch, Denny's nitrous DS, suspension, etc etc. We plan on big street car torque and to put down 500 rwhp N/A. 150-250 wet shot of N2O at the track.

Now to tell you the truth, I already smoothed out the front, I guess I'm asking to see if I screwed it up!!! I may have reduced "velocity" like a dumbass.

I have pictures I can email someone if they are an expert.

Also we will port-match the intake to the heads, port match the headers to the heads, etc.

Thanks man,
RAM

Re: Porting FAST INTAKE

Yes, and unported Fast 90/90 would have been fine...but I've done gone and messed with it. So I need someone to jump in here who has a ported FAST and compare notes to see if I screwed it up!

Thanks Tainted.
Later,
Ram

Re: Porting FAST INTAKE

You may need to portmatch it to the new heads, which is what we did with my old heads/cam LS1. Put down 471 rwhp through the Vette drivetrain.

Kraest,
Yep, we will port-match the intake to the heads. Then we will port match the headers to the head ports, etc. Thanks.

Tainted... it's been fun dude!
