Sure if you're making 1000 HP then upgrading the best wires might give you 15

Plug wires can only give you HP if your old ones aren't working right.

I am curious to know... Besides having bad wires on your car already... Is there ANY situation where upgrading your wires can give you even the slightest HP gain? If they don't give any kind of gain over stock 7mm's, then why does everyone go to MSD, or Taylor? I just want to know what the benefit to upgrading wires is...

Well we all know that Heads, Cam, Stroker, Full True Dual Exhaust, Twin Turbo's, Tourque Converter, 4.10's, Drag Radials, and a Fast Intake in the mail is only considered mildly modded with these cars... so I understand where you're coming from...

Most folks are stuck in OLD SCHOOL where plug wires could be over 3 feet long and all of them were fired by one coil.

Our wires have about 8 inches of wire and each cylinder has it's own coil so a wire upgrade doesn't even make sense UNLESS your wires are old and need to be replaced, then why not get better than stock replacements just for GPs.
Same goes for the MSD coils. $600 for a set of coils?? For what? Maybe if you have a 1500hp turbo motor or a 9000 rpm small inch.

granatelli advertises 15hp gains with their wires and they adamantly defend it on ls1tech. lol

The MSD coils have been shown as like a 5hp 10tq gain on stock vehicles. Not alot for $600 imho.

While LS1Tech has a lot of good LS1 info (and a lot more "traffic", I'll call it ..... that's where I sourced the T56 for my car ) BUT, I've also read a lot more bs stuff over there . I dunno, almost reminds me of a Mustang site at times?!

I agree, wires won't "add" power to your car, unless they're just giving back lost power due to bad wires.

No no no. Ls1tech doesn't defend the plug wires claims granatelli does and they get to because they are a sponsor.

Its actually quite humorous.

I just tell people to pick a color and thats a good plug wire.

There are some aftermarket plug wires that suck, so be careful. One brand in particular seems to have problems with the boots pulling off...
