Piston Slap?
 

What is Piston slap exactly my car makes like a metallic ticking sound when I turn it on not loud at all but you can hear it. I pretty sure I only notice this when I just turn it on for the first time. Or could it be the gas I let my dad drive my car and he put gas in it for me and he put the lowest grade I think it was 87. 02 SS M6 6000miles.

Yes the metallic sound you have is piston slap. Most even have a bit of a knock too when cold, only audible below 2000rpm though. Mine quits doing that stuff a minute or so after starting up. It pisses me off, but it really doesn't even hurt the cylinder walls in the long run unless it's really bad. Also, keep an eye on that oil level. LS1's do burn oil. Other than that, welcome to the LS1 world.
