Re: Pacesetter Headers?
i'd forget them...
check this out!!!
www.thunderracing.com

those come with 02 extensions
all you'll have to do is buy blockoff plates for the AIR tubes for like $9 each (or make your own).
that's a huge savings over the ceramic coated ones in that link. TR also has the no coated versions cheaper.

Re: Pacesetter Headers?
Thanks! But now that i think about it i dunno if i should get long tubes. im planning on buying eibach springs for my car too. do you think i will have clearence problems? shorties wont make as much power, but theyll work wont they?
Re: Pacesetter Headers?
shorties are almost pointless on the 01/02 model years. the factory manifold are pretty much tubular anyway. so the gain is VERY minimal for the cost.
my flowtechs tuck up very nicely. the ypipe hangs a bit lower, but it is also 3" all the way. you could easily order the LTs and have a shop make a 2.5" Ypipe which will help clearance quite a bit.
in my honest opinion...unless you have endless money supply AND emissions...go longtubes or don't go at all.
i would look into midlenght headers if clearance is the problem. MAC and Bassani now make them i think.

Re: Pacesetter Headers?
Are the mac headers at the bottom of this page any good? I was gonna buy the whole set with the headers, cats and y pipe. Its 680$ something i think. anyways, what do u think?

Re: Pacesetter Headers?
why are you so worried about emissions? do you have to pass the sniff test?
cause any mid or LT header is illegal, shorties are the only emissions legal header.
you could pass the sniff test with any of them given proper cats, but the visual inspection will fail
if you have no emissions at all...i would just go for the off-road version
and to answer your question, MACs are very good, and have been proven to give nearly the same hp as LTs. however realize that they are NOT ceramic coated. so they will rust easier and give more engine bay heat.
