?? on off road pipe.........
Hi have a 98 Z28 LS-1 few mods just put a flowmaster cat back system on it sounds better, but still seems restrictive going through the cats does anyone have some advice on this issue, also I'am aware of the computer needs to be retuned also. Is it worth it????? and what ory pipe Thanks Duane
Re: ?? on off road pipe.........
well for a car with just a catback...there is no need for a retune. the only things that could be gained would be lowering the fan temps, rev limiter, o2 sesnor deletion, and the biggest perf gain would be for autos to adjust shift points and firmness.
the stock cats and Ypipe are not very restrictive. an orp may gain you about 5-7hp realistically over the cats. if you are running bigger mods like heads/cam then you could gain more, but would still be better just doing headers and an orp
the orp will definatly make the exhuast a bit louder.
if you really want one, i have a bassani orp that i had installed on my 99z. i'd like to get rid of it soon. its welded together, so i need to figure out a good way to cut it so i can ship it. but new it is $260 or so...i was thinking half that or so. let me know
