Not exactly good but...new best
Our club had a track rental over at BMP (Bradenton) today. That finally gave me the opportunity to make some passes on my Nittos.
1st run was my best: 60': 2.02 1/8: 8.29 @ 89.17 1/4: 12.64 @ 113.33 I bogged it on that run, spun on my next: 2.35 60' (burnout wasn't too good) and bogged again on my next two passes: 2.06 and a 2.02 60'. I decided to heat the Nittos real good and try to launch a little higher (about 3k). Well, the stock clutch didn't seem to like that too much...so it slipped as soon as I launched. I wasn't too thrilled about that but it didn't surprise me at all, I actually expected it "to go" sometime soon. Anyway, I let it cool down for a little while and gave it a go once again...same s**t on the next run...and the next...and the next. Needless to say, I was done after that. So I drove three hours to find out that my clutch and my Nittos don't get along too well. :irk: ...oh well. The car is still plenty "driveable" but I won't be hitting Moroso until I can get a new clutch in there. I guess I'm leaning towards the SPEC stage II or III. I'd like to get one of the McLeod single disk clutches but I really don't feel like spending $800-900 on a clutch. We'll see...hopefully I'll get this done pretty soon so I can make a few more passses while the weather is still pretty good. |
12.60s aren't bad at all for your 60 foot....when i was going 2.0-2.2 i was doing 13.40s  .....
i have a bunch of friends with near stock LS1s...when they run nittos, it's common to spin clutches... apparantly the stock ones aren't too good... anyway congrats on the new best! |
yea, i just found out i have to launch at 2500 to not spin it(have nittos) 3k is just to much for it to handle... i get 2.1 60' constant at 2500 launch
im eithere getting a centerforce or a spec stage III clutch |
