Post MAC offroad y-pipe, need o2 simms?

Sorry, im new to the ls1's. I put mac headers and offraod y-pipe on my friends 2000 camaro SS. I bought o2 simms for it because i thought i needed them, but i see that there are 2 o2 bungs on the y-pipe itself for the back o2 sensors. can i just run the factory o2 sensors in those bungs, or will it not run right w/o the cats there? should i just use the o2 simms? thanks for any help

You definitely need O2 simms when running an off-road pipe.

I have them, but other than the annoying light is there really a reason to have them?

Also, for the rear O2 sensors that are just taking up space, would it be okay to take them out and use something to seal the port?
