Mac Mids Vs. Long Tubes

What is the difference? I mean are the longtubes that much of a difference? This car wont be an all out race car, but more like a street/strip. Might go to the track twice this summer. I like the fact the macs wont scrape on everything. And they are a great price from a respectable company. All info is appreciated.

This thread has been done over and over again. A search would be a great idea. At another forum, this one guy did an excellent review of everything for questions like this. Heres the link:

thats a trip. macs i think are good headers. except their cats suck. but as long as its putting down close to 20 hp then i would be happy. if you look at the readers rides on gmhtp most of those guys are running with macs. im waiting to install my hookers but i will be really disappointed if it puts down less than 20. but other than that the macs should be good to go.

Cool

I had MACs and loved them! I now have Hooker LTs because I wanted to get to a certain HP# with my heads/cam package and the MACs prolly would have left about 5rwhp on the table. You are better off using your factory cats than the MAC cats. I welded my stockers in the Y-pipe and it worked really well!
