ls6 intake on my 98 z28

ls6 intake on my 98 z28

ok im getting an ls6 intake and i was wondering what i do with the EGR equipment now that im not using it? Take it off the car?

Remove it all and get a block-off plate for the hole on top of the passenger-side exhaust manifold (and a new gasket too).

Your car will more than likely throw an SES light when the PCM goes to check for the EGR and doesn't find it. But it's cool, the code isnt one that will set "limp mode"

Well Chevyzman I have the intake on my 98 M6 car and I love it. You will probably gain 1-2 mph in the 1/4, it does really good on those cars because of the cam difference.

so if the light comes on can i reset the pc to fix the light? I hate those damn lights

P.S. I just got the LS6 intake for the EGR. I figered that it run off elec. so it woundnt help it to do away with it.

Yes it will clean up the engine bay. It just wasnt worth the ses light being on all the time.

That friend better have a license to spare if he's going to modify your PCM. Aftermarket places sell variants of the LS6 intake which let you keep the EGR. You might find a tuner with an unlimited LS1-Edit which does simple changes for the fraction of the cost of a full tune.
