LS6 Heads/Cam or Hot Cam/ported LS1 Heads

I want a daily driver capable of low to mid 12s. I don't want to supercharge or add juice. I'd rather go with a heads/cam package and remain emissions legal as possible. I don't know much about head/cam specs but I was wondering if I should go with LS6 heads/cam package ( http://www.paceparts.com/subcatmfgpr...8&1=316&2=1094 )

or

LS1 Hot cam and ported LS1 heads

Also...Does anyone know of any articles or write ups to help one under heads/cam specs.

Well sense I am on a college student budget I like the cost of the hotcam kit and thats what I am going with....plus you can't beat the lope with the 112lsa and these LS1 heads flow incredibly well so you might not even want to mess with them if your on a budget like me. Good luck.

I'm going with the LS6 H/C this spring. It should give you 50 + hp at the wheels. Slap on a set of headers, and you're looking at another 20 hp, so a total of 70 hp gain. That should be more than enough to run at least mid 12's.

Don't forget that the clutch and rear suspension upgrades in the H/C swap

Personally if I was looking for power I'd go with the hotcam ported ls1 head setup.

Due to my lack of knowledge in relations to heads/cam specs, I'm curious to know if the Hotcam/ported LS1 heads would allow me to remain emissions legal.

With a good tune you can pass emissions with the hotcam without much of a hassle.
