LS1 Prices??

I'm looking for a good used 2000+ LS1.. I've been looking for over a month now and I refuse to pay over $20k for a 2000 or 2001 WS6 with a little over 30-40k miles on it..

Am I being to stubborn or are these models really going for that much?? I live in TN and I've been looking in the surrounding areas..

Any comments would be great.. I've found 3 or 4, went and drove them all, but by the time I can even get the money out of the bank, they're gone!

You really need to know exactly what you want in order to determine if some prices are too much for you.

Lately I've been seeing the cheaper LS1s (Z28, Formula) going for about $8,000 in decent condition. I wouldn't imagine that LS1s aren't that common in TN, which may be why they're pricey.

The best advice you get here is to look around for what you think is what you want to buy. Feel free to ask us any questions about the car.

a good source for car values is kelly or kelley blue book,kbb.com also try nada. on kelly you can plug in trade in value or retail value. last sept my 99 vert z28 w/49k was trade in 12k & retail over 15k. you can probably get a 98 or 99 for 10k i'm not sure about newer.

I've got a friend down here in TX selling his 2000 Formula WS6. Sweet car, w/nice mods. I think he's asking $18K.
www.formulaws6.com

And even if you don't want his, it is still a good example of a nice 2000 LS1 for under 20K...

laters,
Shane

Pics in sig... its a 2000 Z28 6spd, ran had 58k miles on it... paid

$12,700

near perfect condition, IMO it is perfect, but i guess no used car is perfect... leather... xenon body kit(i LOVE the way it looks, but if it didnt come with it, i would never had spent the money on it)
BTW this was in louisiana, f-bodies are not rare....although nothing like the stang ever other block type thing...

I'm needing one with about 50k and $17,000 is about all I can spend right now.. still have school bills..

Just last weekend the same Chevy dealer I bought my car from, advertised a red 01 WS6 for $15.888. Even had the picture on the paper.

That was probably gone in a matter of seconds, I'm sure, but in general here in DFW area, you can find a 00+ WS6 for 15-17K pretty easily.

So, if you want a really good deal on your car, be prepared to travel to Texas. Cars are very nicely priced over here.

I paid 13.9 for mine exactly year ago and at that time it was a very good price in this area. Now, similar cars go for 11-13K, so that's it about any resale value...

Good luck with your search!

Im about to buy my first fbody. I can spend about 20k. Like he said, they get sold the minute you see em. I saw a 02 ss with 12k for just over 20 grand. It was sold after being on autotrader for an hour. I actually work at lithia ford, i had my manager check EVERY lithia dealership, (85 stores) and nothing came up. My manager says to me "Just buy one of these mustangs off our lot." (Which i can get a new stang on d plan from ford) Ive driven a lot of fbodies and mustangs, the mustang is cool but i WANT the fbody.

I seen those fbodies all over TX area, but traveling isn't very easy for me to do right now with school and everything.. i've traveled from Nashville to Atlanta looking for these things and they're asking prices are CRAZY!

Might have to see about heading to TX if it saves me 3-4k
