Ls1 milage question

thinking about purchasing an 02 z28 with 164k, all highway between houston and dallas.

i've driven the car and there's no ticks, knocks or strange sounds, it pulls hard and smooth and the tranny (6spd) feels great...but, i'm not a hardcore gear head yet and could use the opinions of some of the veterans. the question i'm wondering is, at that mileage, what maintenence expenses are coming up around the bend and what should i be prepared to replace at the 200K mark or sooner? and really, if you have any other useful information that you think i should be aware of, that'd be great too.

thanks everyone!

Re: Ls1 milage question

maybe have the springs checked and if you do that might as well replace them, replace the timing chain/gear. maybe new oil pump. see if all your injectors are running at normal duty cycle.

Good scan tool Autotap or EFI live. If they show a really high % of open time then chances are that they are plugged.
