Honestly, I would stick with what you have. Buying a WS6 and putting a few thousand in a H/C setup will result in what you have now: a strong running car with a busted rear. It cost about the same to put a solid axle into your current car as is does to put a 12 bolt or 9" into an F-body to handle the power.

On the other hand, if you want to go just as fast WITH decent fuel economy and better looks, go for the WS6! A healthy cammed LS1 exhaust note beats out the blower whine and "Mustang sound" any day of the week.

A 12-bolt or 9" setup is going to cost somewhere around $2000.

The F-body rearends need to be upgraded just like the 03-04 Cobras.

You can do an 8.8" conversion on the Cobra if you want to primarily drag race it.
It'll also knock about 200 lbs off the car's weight.

Yeah our stock 10 bolts are pretty weak for high performance applications. An often overlooked fact is that they are on par with the Cobra IRS stuff strength wise.

If you did that kind of damage to your rear, you need to upgrade the axles and learn how to drive! Wheelhop is the #1 cause of your type of failure.

i want a solid so i dont have to waste more money fooling with the IRS.. of course it'll be a smooth ride and all. but for $1000 i can get a solid rear swap and get good traction
