longtube headers

What would be a good estimate of hp gain from Longtuve headers on and 02 ls1 stock car and the slp flowpack cold air package.

Good longtube headers alone are worth around 20 rwhp and 20-30 rwtq on a 6-speed car.

Yep. I'd say 18-25rwhp in your application.

someone recently (could be on ls1tech) went from bone stock exhaust to LT, true duals and a dyno tune....picked up 43rwhp with the setup.

now granted a good amount of that was from the tune alone...but still.

some food for thought

Mine picked up about the same after LT's and catted Y w/ the Borla CB. I don't believe it was tuned before.

36rwhp after the tune.

exactly...probably easily would have been over 40hp gained if it were duals with no cats.

very nice.

I wanted to go True Duals with High Flow Cats and Chambered Mufflers like the GMMG - think atleast 30 HP could be attained from that plus a Volant intake W/ FRA Mod? ... I know the SSRA + LID will definately help alot but I wanted to take a turn and be alittle different and go with a Hood with a Ram Air scoop + Volant... I'm not to concerned about the cost but 90% of the members here have already taken the SSRA / FRA / Lid route and well, I just like to stand out...

I am alittle curious though as to how much a True Dual exhaust could be fabbed and installed for, does anyone sell a TD exhaust for our cars?

My heads cam car (in the sig) had Long tubes, 2 1/2" catless Y into a 3" loudmouth.
Changed to 3" true duals with x-pipe dumped at the axle and gained

''drum roll here please''

zero hp. Yep that right dual 3" pipes on a stock 346 cuin motor is total over kill and will gain no hp over a good y-pipe and catback. It sounds better but that's it.

I can believe that. Did you pick up any mid-range torque? The 2 1/2" to 3" Y set-up is actually pretty efficient. I've been kicking around the idea of upping to true-duals on my 383, but I doubt that I'll gain much HP.

I'm impressed... But by how much better did it sound? and how much would a CATTED Y-Pipe and Catback be over a true dual exhaust setup?
