http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=237671 1/2 the problem for me was getting to the bolts closests to the firewall, although it is probably pretty hard on the LT1s too.

having done both, ill say the ls1 job was easier. mainly because the the spark plugs and wires are easier to hook up afterwords. both times i did it, i just drove the car up on ramps and then jacked it up a lil bit higher.

LS1 is easier. It took me about 5 hours to get the headers in. I still haven't done the y-pipe though. I have the coated flowtechs. All that was needed was cut the flashing on the drivers side of the block and get the car high enough. The slipped right in and bolted up. No issues. Much easier then the set of Hookers I did a month ago, eve though they are the same design.

They are alot easier to install. You might have to notch the k-member, or jack up the motor, or maybe disconnect the steering shaft. I only had to notch the k member, in my situation. If you do undo the steering shaft be sure not to turn the upper half. It may cause the airbags to deploy. Best of luck to you.

You should not have to notch anything . On the drivers side , remove the bolt that runs thrue the engine mount and raise the engine as far as possible w/out breaking anything . ANd that Header will go straight in , n/p .

In laymans terms....f*&^ yes it's easier on an LS1. A good estimate is 8 hours on an LS1 vs. about 4 days for an LT1.
