knock at part throttle.

i hooked up my diablo and took the car down the road.i have a part throttle hesitation and the diablo is showing im getting 12-19% of knock.my timing is going from 40 to 0 when it shows the knock. does anyone have a clue what this could be? i always run 93 0ctane.thanks,joe

Can you hear it? Could it be detonation or spark knock? www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic8798.php Didn't mention any codes so assume you're not getting any. Don't know what it is, sorry not much help.

no it hasnt throwed any codes.i cant hear any pinging,it shows 3% of knock at full throtle.

When your saying 3% do you mean 3°? AFAIK knock is reported in degrees.

Sounds like the first thing that you need to do is Seafoam it. You could have carbon buildup on the pistons. If that doesn't help it then you may have to get with your Diablo dealer and get the light throttle cruise timing reduced. Oh and clean the MAF too as it effects timing too.

Unload the Diablo tune and see if it still exists. That's the most likely cause. If it still does it, like Al said Seafoam it and clean the MAF. That's the second most likely cause. If that still fails, you may have corroded knock sensors that are overly sensitive. Only way to check that is visually. And if you go through the trouble of pulling the intake to check them, it would be a good idea to just replace them and reseal the wells anyway

ok i seafomed the car and put tr55 gaped at .50 still doing the same damn thingthe previous owner had the old 55,s gaped at .65.thinking about adding some fuel with my diablo.
