Well, I didn't notice the knock untill I had my magnaflow muffler put on....I doubt it has anything to do with it....and I was at the exhaust shop the whole time so I know some idiot didn't drive it, is there ANYTHING else that would cause a knock? I have good gas in it and the oil level is good....no metal shavings or anything to that nature in it either. My SES light has been on for some time now and I have a friend coming with a scan tool tonight. Will it show up in a code?

Well yeah. It's probably related to the SES light. You really shouldn't go a long time with the SES light on. It could really mess things up. Even the manual will tell you that.

Okay ... here are the codes.

p0155
O2 Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 sensor 1

P0300
Random/multiple cyl misfire dectected

P0404
EGR flow ckt range/perf

P1153 Manuf. specific DTC

can any of that amount to a knock by chance??

Jesus....and you left those unchecked??

It's probably P0300 that's doing the knocking.

Take it in and get it fixed or at least do something to fix it.

Okay can someone put a few of these problems into perspective for me?

P0300- Random/Multiple cyl misfire dectected
Could that be anything from a spark plug to a bent pushrod?

P0404 - EGR flow CKT Range/perf
I know what EGR is, but what is CKT range/perf ?? do I just need to change my EGR??

P1153-Manuf. specific DTC
What is DTC?

P0155-o2 Heater Circuit Malfunction bank 2 sensor 1
Do I just need to change my O2 sensor? If so which one is that?

Also, Schism.... bro I believe you probably alot more mechanicly gifted than I, BUT.... I have run into to some tough times monitarily, so please stop treating me like I am an idiot. Trust me, if I had the cash none of this would have happened. I am trying to fix these problems myself and am just asking for some advice.

OK, start by resetting the PCM. Wait until the SES comes back on and re-scan it.

There is a 60 sec test that is performed on the O2 sensors that tests how many times they switch from lean to rich and then from rich to lean. The code 1153 is set when the o2 sensor goes from more then 600mv to less then 300mv (outside the prescibed range)
Helms manual suggests to test for exhaust leaks, O2 sensor correctly installed, damaged wiring, fuel contamination or bad O2 sensor in that order.

DTC is your drivers side.

Here is an update. My oil change light came on for the first time since I had the car. (about 4k on the oil) So I changed it with valvoline 5w-30 and the knock stopped the next day. Think the car lot may have used the wrong kind of oil???
