Post K&N....worth it?

Well, I have about a 100 bucks left to do some cheap mods on my car. I was thinking about getting a K&N air filter (if that could even be considered a mod). They are $70, are they worth it? What kind of hp increase would I expect?

You should really look around for a better price than that, because a K&N air filter usually for an F-body for like $45-50 depending where you look. here is SLP's price ---->

another favorite out there is the Holley Power Shot filter, which can be found for $45 just about anywhere!

KN filter is diffently better than a stock filter, and yes look for a better price.
Look on the for sale forum, a saw a couple on there.

You shouldnt be trusted with a lighter, gasoline, and a k&n filter, things just go up in smoke!!!!!

If you've done other mods to your car, get the air filter. Any extra air in the engine will help. The filter alone won't do more that a few ponies. I would recommend it. Just don't over-oil it. I would also recommentd getting a bac-up standard filter to use when you are cleaning and servicing the K&N. It take a good 24 hours to dry and wick the oil into the element. Also, dealers might void certain parts of your warranty .

DONT BUY, they do nothing, i have seen it on a dyno, its basically shooting a 50 spot down for 1hp, at the MOST, they claim more because they compare it to a dirty oem filter.
