Installing new grille???

Just bought a Speed grille from street scenes (Looks like a mesh grille) and instructions say i have to remove front bumper. There must be a easier way to replace the grille, i really dont want to take off the front facial and not have it line up right when i put it back on . Any tips would be very much appreciated.

I presume it uses the stock mounting locations. IIRC, the stock grille uses to clips on the far left/right, and 3 plastic bolts each on the upper and lower halves. I recall having a problem reaching the rear of the those plastic bolts with their locking retainers.

Like a lot of folks, I ended up using gentle persuasion(i.e., yank), and a Sawzall (j/k). I'm interested in this too. Do you have a link to what your grille looks like? I haven't seen a grille that floats my boat yet.

Your answer would depend on how the new one goes on. Mine used four long course screws (and four newly drilled holes). It didn't really matter how I got the old one off. But as JimMueller said, there are 3 plastic studs (backed by metal retaining nuts) that run across the top that cannot be accessed without removing the front fascia. These are the 3 mounting points that you can 'rip away' (hopefully very gently). The 3 clips on the bottom are accessible from below (under the car and behind the grill) and can be released with your fingers (or you can rip here too). The 2 at each end (no clips, just snap in) are pretty obvious.

Just rip that grille off, unless you intend to use the stock grille later.

If you have any intention of securing your grille, because it's not a snap-on and leave type of thing, then go under your car. You will see either 3 or 5 push-pins in front of the black plastic thing under our cars. Remove those, then move the fascia down. Now I only secured it in one position, the middle, I had to stretch it to put the clip on, but it is relatively easy.

Now since my car is pewter, you can see the stock center part of the fascia. If you have a light car, and you don't like to see that, then just apply mesh behind the street scene grille.
