I think I need new tires, suggestions?

Within a span of three weeks, my two left tires have picked up four total nails, one on the side that cant be patched up. I've got the Eagle F1 GS's so I'm pretty pissed.

Now my front right tire is constantly loosing air, and the left one, guess wasnt patched well, because every 4 days I have to put another 15lbs of pressure into it.

The tire I'm looking at is Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I've heard that those Kumho's and Yokowhatevers suck when it comes to wear, and that I would probably go through a set of them every two or so months. Then again, the price tag on these tires I want is VERY HIGH and, I'll be busting my ass to afford them.

Any other suggestions on tires to get?

I always hear great things about Firestone Firehawk SZ50ep and BF Goodrich KDW's. Also heard Bridgestone RE730's are good. When I comes for me to ever get new tires I'm without question getting the SZ50's. Kumho's I hear are the worse for any traction.

I was in the same situation you were not too long ago, and I didn't want to spend $800-$1,100 for Goodyears.

I searched the Internet a lot, and finally ended up talking to my friend's dad who has owned Camaros since the 70s, so he knows them well.

His wife has a '99 Z28 Convertible and he didn't want to spend a small fortune on tires either, so he bought a set of BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDWS tires. He recommended that I buy them too, which I did, for $603 out the door, not too bad. These tires hold the road very well.

Here's a link to the tire

Yokohama gets my vote.. For the price they have the best tires period.

I have used over 10 of these tires and my friends have all used the same tires with my same results. Very good tires indeed..

check out what the reviews say on this tire.. Even car magazines agree (i read about these a couple months ago in Car and Driver or Roan and Track.. )

Its what I will be getting when it comes time for new tires..

I do ask that you tell us what you bought, how much you spent, and your initial reaction to your tires. Thanks!

Read all the reviews, there are ALOT of F-body reivews on it

Everyone is bowing down and claiming these tires are GODS

I dunno, I might want to crack down and actually pay for the Eagle F1 GS-D3's

I got the Sumitoyos, can't beat the price. They don't last forever, mine have 19000 miles (incl. rotating) on them and I'll need new ones soon. For the money they're just fine, I believe I paid only 109 $ for the 275-40-17.....
With more than 300 RWHP no tire lasts long, just get the cheap ones...

forget what u have heard about kumho's. they are great tires, especially for the price. i have had mine for around 10-11,000 miles and they are showing very little wear.

I just put a set of yoko es100's on. Great tires. Low rolling resistance, stick like glue wet or dry and great price(about $500 installed for 4). I went with 45's in the rear for a little more gear and better roll on power in 6th. Much better than Kuhmo's.
