buddy at muffler shop is going to hook me up with a new i pipe for a new exhaust. problem is he wants to make 21/2in diameter and i say 3 he also tells me all catbacks come with 2 1/2in pipes i think he is full of crap actually im pretty sure he is full of crap because he's hooking me up for a six pack of natty light. so who is right?

 

What year car are you talking about?

I know that the exhaust on my car was 2-3/4" (at least I'm pretty sure it was 2-3/4"?!) and the Flowmaster cat-back I installed was a full 3" mandrel bent system.

AFAIK, all factory LS1 exhaust is 2-3/4".

 

If he is hooking you up with a 2 1/2" I-pipe you are better off with Stock since Stock is 2 3/4".. Most Aftermarket Cat backs come with 3" I-Pipe..

i knew he was full of crap. he will still hook me up but i told him i needed 3 inches. hope now he believes me oh well it might cost me a 12 pack
