I need your help
I need your help
Heres the deal.. I have a chance to get some parts for my car for free.. just have to swap stock for aftermarket parts.. Heres where I need the help.. I own a 99 SS and the parts are coming from a 02 Z28, I just need to find out if the parts listed below will swap out without major problems...
99 SS auto - 02 Z 6 speed
Stock exhaust - SLP lt, ORY, Borla cat back
Stock induction - SLP MAF, lid
Stock rear end w/TC & ABS - 12 bolt no TC not sure on ABS
I need to know if I can use those headers and if theres a way to use an 02 lid on a 99 car. And I need to know if there is any problems putting the rear end from the 99 into the 02, with the 99 having traction control and the 02 not having it.. did all stick cars come with 3.42 gears? If so I would put 3.42 gears in the 99 rear end then swap them... I guess I just need to know if this stuff can be done with out hacking it in on either car..Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks
One more thing, are there any shops in the Wayne county, MI area that specialize in these cars, so I could take these two cars there and have the parts swaped... thanks again

Well i'm not too shure on every thing, but i'll answer what little I can and let the others fill in the holes...... I know on the '02 lid you won't have a place to hook up the AIR hose, but all you need to do is buy a valve cover breather to put in the end of the hose (this may take a little fabbing to the breather) and zip-tie it off some place, on the LT's if they are race style (no AIR or EGR fittings) I don't think you should have a problem, but you will have to get rid of the AIR and EGR for it to work, and i'm pretty shure if they are for an '01-'02(they don't use an EGR) they may not have an EGR hook up for you to use but you can just get rid of your EGR all togather and buy a block off plate for the LT's.....I will warn you now that the SLP LT's are known to hang pretty low..just an FYI. And the ORY and Borla should work fine. Yes all m6 cars have 3.42's but I cant help you much on the rear end stuff.....Now that I think about it you may not have to worry about the AIR if the lid is from SLP because I think it has a hook up for AIR, you can check their site for better info. And for the shops in MI post about it in the Great Lakes/ Canada forum, there are a bunch of good guys there that will help you out

Sorry but the guy needs to find an 01-02 car for his back to stock project.
Just swap the Lid and Borla, you don't need (or want) the aftermarket MAF. Headers will be a too big of an issue to do a swap for both of you; emissions in different locations, EGR or lack of, different stock manifolds, etc. 12 bolt will be an issue too; TCS to non-TCS wiring.
