i need a little help
HI IM thinkin of buyin a camaro(new guy), im thinkin of a 1997 or 1998, what are the difference?, whats the difference between the LS1 and the LT1? wich one is best?
Thanx |
You'll tend to get different responses, depending on who you ask. Basically, stock for stock, the LS1 has a little more power. Once you start modding, it's anyone's ballgame. The LT1 has been said to have a bit more low-end torque, and deeper exhaust note, but I don't know, personally. If I could go back, I might have looked for a cheaper LT1 car, but at the time, I just wanted a new car, so I opted for the first one I drove.. I was instantly hooked. :) Good luck.

Personally, if you don't want to have to mess around with your car, and just drive it how it is, go with the ls1, but if you like to get into the car and modify, the lt1 might be cheapier.

BTW, the LS1 pulls hard above 4500rpms. ;) It definitely has the advantage in the top-end range.

Well, the LS1's have quite a bit more power stock for stock and would spank an LT1. Also, there are some other upgraded areas, like brakes, etc. I think parts are a little cheaper for LT1's, but IMO the LS1 is a better car with more power and performance capabilities. I mean with just bolt-ons, heads, and cam, you got yourself an 11-second car. Actually, I have a friend who's got bolt-on's, cam, and 100-shot n2o, he goes 10.90's on n2o, and like 11.80's on motor and he's on stock heads.

And if it is important to you, the ls1 gets better gas mileage also.
