Hurst Shifter

i have a 98 z28 6spd, i dont know which options came on the car.. i would like to know if this is the hurst shifter or not, it would make me happy to know... which code do i have to look for and where do i have to look for it.... please let me know

If the shifter **** has a "H" engraved on it then you have the hurst shifter.

well, it doesnt have the H on the shifter, i dontknow if the previous owner replaced it or not, is there any other way to check??

does it have a leather ball? tell us about it..
i have the short throw.. i dont miss any shifts.. it is straight.. the non factory Hurst is cocked at an angle..

The GM Code for the Hurst Short Throw Shifter is BBS (2002) So check that.

damn i dont have the hurst shifter, there is no bbs code and it is angled.. which shifter should i get?? i want a short throw, butnot that short...

pro 5.0?

then you probably have a hurst aftermarket.

it angels towards the driver.

Hurst aftermarket, SLP, Pro 5.0, whatever. Just get rid of your sloppy non-Hurst stock shifter and you will enjoy your car much more.

it sounds like you have an aftermarket shifter cause the stock shifters are not angled..
the Pro 5.0 is not angled unless it has the lous short stick.. Pro alone is a tall shifter that many cut down a few inches..

the Ripper i am not sure about.. it may be just a straight one..


I personally would get a Pro 5.0 if and when I decide to get rid of mine.

If you have a Hurst shifter it will say Hurst on it.
