Price? Dyno-tunes vary. I really couldn't tell ya. A HPP or variant gives a preprogrammed generalized program. A dyno-tune will tune your car to the best program possible. If you have mods, dynotuning is the way to go. Good luck!

Im with him on this. The HPPIII is only good for resetting your shifts on automatic cars, and changing for different gear ratio and tire heights. If you have any mods such as nitrous or headers, you cant use the powertune due to it really messing up the cars air/fuel. Get it dyno tuned and PCM programmed. They will find more horsepower then Hypertech could dream of.

I talked with a guy at LS1 Motorsports and was basically told that few did the dyno tune. So given the location of the one he used I went with the chip. Anyhow, I am looking to increase the rev limiter and hopefully affect my fuel mixture. The other mod now underway is a corsa cat back exhaust system.
BTW I have an M6 so I know the shifts won't be helped.

neither..

nothing or -2 hp versus very little or nothing

spend your $ on something else. Look to do the dyno tune after you do heads/cam.

Agreed, thats when you'll reak the benifits from the dyno tune, with serious mods like the heads/cam
