how much abuse can the stock block take?
how much abuse can the stock block take? what i mean is; just because someone throws in forged internals,(lunati or whatever brand) can the block itself handle extreme conditions like high boost and 250+ shots of n20?
if thats the case, i should be ok with a new rotating assembly and f.i. to reach for the 10's?

Re: how much abuse can the stock block take?
I know cars with the stock block in the 9's on N2O. Some like to go to an iron block for a more solid setup. But, I don't think it's needed for 10's.

wasn't there changes between the years that vary? Something like 97 98's had a some kind of restriction in oil flow, which hampered high rpm's.. then like the later blocks had the window bays cut in.. the rod bolts changed in like 2001 or something? Its all in that how to build high performance LS1 book..
