i went 13.1 at 109.7 100% stock and it was my 3rd pass ever at the drag strip. i cut a 2.22 60ft time, so i am confident that it would have run in the 12s with a better driver

I have a Hugger SS M6. Leather, T-tops, no weight reduction. I ran it bone stock, with 21,000miles, still had orig tires. It weighed 3650 with me in the car. 13.00@109.6 2.0 60'. Temp was around 45 and the track was Rockingham. It dynoed 298hp and 307 ft/lbs. A little low I think partly because of the TR6 plugs making it run rich.

Dang, that's really fast for stock. 13.1 is cooken, and 109 almost 110mph is fast! With a better 60 foot, you're right that was 12's all the way. Good job, Shane

thanks, Shane

Umm.....Auto's can come with either 2.73's or 3.23's. SS cars have 3.23's and its an option on the Z28.

If I got one, I'd get a 6 speed, but why do auto's come with such a low gear?

I'm just guessing here but I think it's because of fuel economy. Since the A4's have two less gears they run at far higher rpm's on the highway then a M6 would after dropping into sixth. So to compensate for that they gave the auto's lower gearing to keep thier rpm's at least somewhat reasonable at 70ish mph. The M6's still own the highway mileage but the lower gears helped the autos be more competitive.

That's just a guess but I think it's probably the reasoning behind it. Autos unfortunately lose some zip so to speak with the lower gears but then again that's why we get higher stall torque converters. We don't need gears, we need torque Lol.

You won't go wrong with a 6 speed.

After my run friday night going 12.67 with few mods I have, I am now confident I would've been in the 12's stock if I left the car that way.

But hey...shoulda, woulda, coulda...

That's awesome. Either 12's stock, or 12.6 with little mods. That is amazing. I was really happy when I went 13.8 stock. I didnt even think twice about running again and trying to better that. I just put in a chip, and changed out the lower pulley and went 12.6. I've been real happy with that. I have done a little more to the truck sense then, but havent been able to get a better et. My chip needed a reburn after 1 attempt, and after one day it was like 85-90 degrees out. Hopefully this spring i'll be able to run with my slicks and new set up and be a little deeper into the 12's. Congrats to everyone in or close to the 12's stock with the ls1's, that is impressive.
