How difficult to install an intake?

I have been thinking about the LS6 intake for a while now but i need to know how difficult it is to install? Time, tools, and all that stuff

Well I've taken off a few intakes before but never on a LS1 car. I'm guessing it can be done with everyday tools and something to remove the old gasket if it sticks. You're gonna have to disconnect the TB and MAF setup and wires and that should be it.

Basically just disconnecting what's attached to the manifold, removing what's in the way of u pulling it off and then unbolting it.

The fuel rail with all the injectors also have to come off, I'm in the process of changing intakes on my 00 ss. I'ts taken a couple of weeks to do off and on working when its warm, I live in Michigan. But r/r intakes is no simple task, if you do yourself you'll end up lots of cuts and scrapes up to your elbows. In my opinion this is a fairly difficult mod. I printed off a set of instructions off of Ls1howto.com, the instructions on the site are more indepth than the ones that come with the new intake. I was curious how many other people had done this mod to they're cars. I dont see it listed on any sigs?

I had to take mine off to get to removeing my heads, its not bad, about the same as replaceing spark plugs. Some bolts are easy to get to some arent. Disconnect everything attatched to the throttle body includeing throttle cable, then of course the intake bolts. Then the part where i got stuck was removeing the fuel lines from the fuel rail so you can take the intake all the way off. I got stuck there, someone else brought over a tool i cant remember the name of it and i didnt do it so i dont know its purpose but u will need it. I bought it, its like $10 from autozone. Mabey someone else can help u out there. But yes, you can take pretty much the whole top end of with vey few sockets....

OK, I have had mine off several times. It's pretty simple really. The only special tool you need it gas and haudralic line removal tool. I got mine from pep boys. It make things really simple there. I found it easier to remove the coil packs. This gives a little more room. Also, don't forget the vacumn lines from the back of the intake before pulling it all the way out. I can get it out in about 30 - 45 mintues.

I've looked at the ls1 many a times and it looks so wedged in there. Mainly the back, being tucked under the cowl. When removing stuff back there, are you flying blind just feeling with your hands or does that cowl come off, or what?
