With stock manifolds & cats? I'd say a 4 at idle and a 6 or so at WOT. Definitely not one of the loudest catbacks out there, but still very good overall.
good luck,
Shane

It is a bolt on corect? No welding?

The Hooker is a pretty much bolt in swap. You will need to either remove the stock band clamp or buy a new one for between the y-pipe and i-pipe (it's held on by a spot weld and a b!tch to get off). You will also need to remove part of the hanger on the rear of the i-pipe near the muffler which will take some work. Not too hard though, my friend and I installed it in his garage in a couple hours (taking our time). It does sound nice over the stock exhaust and mean at WOT.

how did you get past the weld

blckbrd84 Nov 10, 2002 11:40 AM

To get past the spot weld on the band clamp, I simply bent the clamp up and kind of used a hacksaw to saw through the spot (it is smaller then a dime). I probably could have used a dremel, and that would have worked even better (didn't have one at the time). As for the part of the hanger, that took some banging and my friend ground it down a little on a sander.
