Help with sfc's

I plan on buying some subframe connectors, I'm thinking about SLP diamond SFC's. What is the pro and con of the bolt on diamonds vs. the weld on dimonds.
Help appreciated.
Thanks

yeah, but what I want to know, bolt in diamonds vs. weld on, if there is a difference. Mainly if the bolt on won't hold up as stiff or well as the weld on.

Pretty much both come up to the same price, since weld ons are $100 cheaper, but still I will probably pay $100 to get them welded in and painted.

there has been concern that the bolt holes will elongate after a while from the flex, and will basically negate the effective stiffness and resistence to flex.

i say just get the weld ons

double diamonds don't gain you much over standard on a street car. a serious autoX or road course car maybe, but i just stuck with the nice stiff, boxed BMR sfc...they work and look great and are well priced at $160

Thumbs up

I would get the SLP bolt ons, they come painted or powdercoated, and you can always have them welded anyway.

Very True.

But aren't bolt on subframes more expensive than just weld ons?

(These prices are from Tbyrne)
Part number:70801 - 1993-2002 SLP bolt in subframe connectors $289.99

Part number: 70802 - 1993-2002 SLP weld in subframe connectors $189.99

Why spend the extra money for a bolt on when you could just get a weld on for cheaper if you plan on welding them?

Point well taken, I personally wanted the option to either bolt or weld onto my vehicle.

Me too! At first i wanted bolt on because if i got rid of the car or something i could take them off. But i was having trouble finding the right subframes for my vert so i was willing to get whatever popped up infront of me. (It appears now that verts have alot more to choose from. ) So somebody on this board was selling his weld ons brand new and i got them for a good price.

I paid 90 bucks to get mine welded on. That was fine with me because the guy only expected to take an hour or so and he spent four. My subframes were a huge pita for some reason.

I just recently bought the BMR tubulars. It seems like the places around here that have experience with them want to charge >$200 for install. One of the local shops told me that the Camaros are harder to install than the Mustangs for some reason and estimated 3.5 - 4 hrs for ~$270. Another guy quoted me ~$200.

If you're going to get weld-ons, I'd recommend you check around first to see how much you'll have to pay for good work. I'm going to check some more places but don't know if I trust a place like Midas or something.

My SLP bolt ons were installed in less than 30 min. It is a very straight forward install. The convertable maybe a bit harder, however I think they are milking the time at 3 to 4 hours.

"Sub Frame connectors" should not void any part of your warrenty, and upon installation of my bolt ons, they used "red locktite" and NONE of my bolts have ever loosend. I have had them installed now for over 3 Yrs.
