Exclamation Help with coolant light......

OK,me being an idiot I put injector cleaner in the radiator thinking it was my watter wetter I only dropped about 2 oz before I realized my mistake.I was at a car show so I had to drive it home about 25 miles. So I start driving and I get the little coolant light on the dash.I get home and flush the radiator until nothing but clear water is coming out.I reset the battery by pulling the PCM fuses but the lights still there. The car runs fine and doesn't overheat or anything and I think I just damaged the sensor that lights up the dash.Does anybody know what it's called and where it's located? Thanks.

Could actually be coincidence, as I have been thru 3 of those low coolant sensors - counting the factory original unit !

My guess is that it has been "coated" and is therefore unable to read the level.

I guess you will have to remove it from the radiator to clean it (wipe off the coating) as I do not believe tehre is any way to reach the wetted end while it is installed, but if I am incorrect on this someone should chime in to correct me !

To answer your question, it is located on the passenger side of the radiator right below one of the a/c hoses - you'll see a little gray plastic piece with an electrical connector on it.

I also understand that this was such a problem on the 98's & '99's that they did away w/ this little jewel for the '00 model year.

Good Luck , and watch out for battery terminal corrosion !!

(See my post about the original battery.)
