Lightbulb Quick Guess : resistor pellet in the key is wet, or wigging somehow ...

Try a second set of keys - assuming you have one.

I know my car has done some funny "starts & stumbles" when the pellet in the key was wet .

I'd assume the same thing could happen if it got dirty somehow and the computer was unable to read the resistance properly.

Good Luck !

Yeah, sounds like a problem with vats. Check for corrosion or dirt on the contacts for the resistor in the key and in the ignition lock.

Lightbulb Check for loose battery terminals, too.

Sunday, I thought I was going to have to replace another battery !

Car had been doing fine - no problem when I parked it on Saturday - and then Sunday A.M. - clickety clickety click , then nothing.

ARRGGH !!

Had to borrow a truck to go get tools - and work clothes.

Came back, and for grins, checked the terminals. Neither was what I would call super loose, yet tightening up the positive terminal did the trick.

Funny thing is that even though the battery in theory was "dead" - I.E. not enough power to get lights, wigging out gauges, etc. , I never lost my radio station presets.

Good thing that the important things continue to receive power, eh ?

Hey dude, its your ignition switch. Mine went out a while ago also. On mine you would turn the key, and all the accesories would come on and stuff, but it just wouldnt turn on the starter. After a couple of times it would work.
