Headers for my 02 SS
I was looking on craigslist and I seen some guys selling some JBA shortie headers for $300 obo. I would go long tube but its to much drama living in California. What do you guys think about this deal. I don't know much about JBA headers...are they any good???
Thanks for the help guys

Re: Headers for my 02 SS
If you don't have big plans on future mods and don't intend to move out of Cali, I'd say save your $$$. $300 plus the 6 hours of knuckle busting to get them in just isn't worth the 5 hp you would gain i.m.o. Buy some O2 simms and an off-road y-pipe for the same amount and see the same gains with a louder sound. They're really easy to bolt up and you can swap your stock, catted y-pipe back in come emissions time.
Re: Headers for my 02 SS
My understanding is that the 01s and 02s have LS6 exhaust manifolds and flow as good as shorties anyway. My 02 Z28 is lowered so I'm not doing LTs, since the stock manifolds are supposed to flow so well I guess I wont mess with them at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Re: Headers for my 02 SS
Just get a cut-out for when you want an extra ~10 HP and a little more noise
. Shorties are a waste of time on 01's & 02's especially (I don't think they're from the LS6, 'cause that's in a 'Vette, which doesn't have the same exhaust configuration as an F-body
) but they're supposed to be better flowing than '98-'00 manifolds

.As said though, save your money...shorties on a '00-'02 are not worth it. Unless you think that $40-50 per 1hp is a good deal.
