i am planning on buying the pacesetter longtubes in the near future. Now i know that i would fail the sniffer, but in illinois, they do the obdII testing by checking the comp for codes. If i get o2 sims, it should "pass" shouldn't it....any illinois guys help me out. Also, which y pipe is best, from what i understand the hooker y will fit as well as the pacesetter one. Any good reviews on the tsp y as well? Will i need o2 extensions and is it recommended that i buy better header gaskets/bolts? Thank you for your help and sorry for all the questions

Why would you fail the sniffer test? That is unless you are also removing the cats, or have a visual inspection to make sure nothing has been changed from stock.

If you are still running with cats just get O2 extensions, if not get O2 sims so the PCM won't know the difference.

Ya you would pass as long as the PCM doesn't throw a code.

we need more info.. like the other guy said if your running cats you should pass as long as the o2s are hooked up still.. and if not go the sims route like most of us have

It all depends on your state. TX just hooks up the ecm and looks for SES codes.

Ya if it just looks for codes just hook up your front ones (car will run bad wither out them) and the for the back ones get 02 sims. unless your running cats then just plug the 02's in for the back ones too. That should let you pass fine.

Thanks guys, sorry about that, i can't believe i forgot to say off road y...do i need extensions for the front sensors? also any suggestions on the brand of y pipe?

You'll need header gaskets your stock bolts can be reused, you probably will need o2 extensions as far as y-pipes go i believe the tsp one is made for both pacesetter and hooker headers. If you go with an ory like you said you can also just hook up your rear o2 sensors and then have someone turn the codes off so you dont have to buy 02sims turning off the codes is about 75 well down here it is..hope that helps

I'm in the same boat. I just checked my state (RI) emmissons testing web site. It states that on OBDII's they just use the diagnostic port and check for codes.
So if thats the case, with O2 simms my car should pass with LT's and a ORY?Does this sound correct. If so I think I'm going to order a set of KOOK's Lt's and a off road y pipe next week.

Should pass without a hitch, I even talked to the guys at mti and they said they hadnt seen a car with the O2s turned off fail an inspection so unless you get a inspection tech whos just an ass it shouldnt be a very big deal
