Has anyone tried to filter the oil mist going into the intake manifold?

OK, someone must have already thought of this.

Up until a couple of years ago, I always thought that fuel injected engines had a great advantage over carbureted engines, as the manifold was "dry". However, when I changed out the stock 48mm throttle body for a 52mm unit on my 1994 Z28M6, I was shocked to see how much oil and crap were in the intake. This stuff must continuously drip down and impede spark plug firing and O2 sensor operation. Also, when my wife had a near hydro-lock damage event with our 1996 Impala SS in a big puddle, the milky oil was literally oozing back out of the throttle body.

Upon this discovery, I seriously cleaned the intake with gumout and top-engine clean, which had the effect of immediately fouling the plugs and O2 sensors.

While carbureted engines use PCV valves, at least the gas mixture helps keep it clean. Also, the valve cover vent to the air cleaner was always filtered.

So anyway, I reason that this oily mess can only hurt engine performance and efficiency.

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EVER TRIED TO FILTER THE CRANKCASE TO INTAKE AND VALVE COVER TO INTAKE VENTS TO MINIMIZE THIS OILY MESS? IF SO HOW DID YOU DO IT?
