hardened pushrods yes or no?
I hear back and forth about hardened pushrods. Do you guys recommend putting hardened pushrods with aftermarket heads/cam/springs?

Re: hardened pushrods yes or no?
yes you have too. Stock pushrods are not strong enough to handle it

Re: hardened pushrods yes or no?
I wouldn't install any cam without upgrading pushrods. Heard too many horror stories about them even with stock cams:rolleyes:.

Re: hardened pushrods yes or no?
"....aftermarket, heads, cam, springs...."
You will have to check and see what the correct length is. Cam base circle, rocker arm design, installed valve height and many other factors play into choosing a pushrod length. Don't assume anything. Buy a pushrod length checker from Comp and follow the instructions, then order the pushrods you need. The strongest pushrod you could buy is going to be a tapered length like Manton, Smith Brothers etc.. -Mindgame |
