Post Got the Low oil light on my '02 Z

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same on the '02, it is a year old and has 19,000 miles. My oil pressure is a tad lower than normal at around 41 pounds. Just wondering if anyone else has seen it. It has done it before around 5,000 miles after i fill with synth, in which i have 1000 to go.

F-Body cars, especially the M6, will go through some oil. If it's more than 1 qt per 1,000 miles, you can make GM fix it under warranty. That is, assuming that you want monkey boy in the service bay to rip your motor apart and replace piston rings.

Low oil light? uh .... did you check the oil level? I bet it's low.

I had a similar problem with my 2001 Z28 automatic. The service department at the dealership told me that high oil consumption on Z28's are normal. They even told me any time it got low I could bring it back and they'd fill it up for free with Mobil 1 Synthetic which is what I use. Don't know if you're dealership would be as kind.............

The funny thing is, is that today, there was no light, oil lvls seem to be fine because of the pressure. If it stayed on i would understand but it happens for like on start then the rest of the month, nothing.

Did I miss something? Have you pulled the dipstick and actually checked the level? I know, I am a genius at these things but DAMN!

You might have normal pressure, only problem is you might have normal pressure on 4 quarts of oil.

Wait..screw it, give me the car. You don't deserve it.

Lvl's are fine, they have always been fine, the reason i posted is because the guage will hit forty and then jump up to normal the next start, happens once in every 3 months or so. Do you think i am a freakin idiot, of course i checked it. I have had 3 sports cars, all with 8's and it insults me that you would leave a childish reply like that. Personaly i thought there would be a higher lvl of thinking other than, check your oil. Besides, from 6 1/2 quarts to 4 your oil pressure wouldn't be at 40 one day and 50 the next. It's logicaly imposible, less oil = less pressure, at least at idle, which is what i am considering, plus then what would be the purpose of having a low oil pressure light if your oil pressure would always be fine even with half the oil it needed. What i was wanting to know is, has anyone had any fualty guages on the 02's, or bad sending units. I have had two total a@#'s (other than threat, and rncotton in which i apreciate they're responses) give me a irelavent response, instead of giving advice, which is the pupose of this site, they give they're stupid comments, which they know would **** me off. One thing is that i bought my Z in july of last year, and i probably have one of the first down the line. It insults me that as a struggling college student who has no freaking time to go to dealership everyday, get told that i don't deserve the car i spend everything i make on. On a final note, brad you can lick my *****. :P
