getting hypertech today

getting hypertech today for $100 bucks, 98 z28 a4, any recomended settings?

Yeah...the setting that doesn't install the performance tune.

You can play with the trans so it shifts a little harder and lower your fan temps (just tell it you have a 180 t-stat).

Make sure your battery is in good shape, when I had one it took several minutes to load - you don't want to lose voltage in the middle of programming. I used one for gear swap/fans/50% shift firmness a few years ago - never tried the tune.

Granted the price is cheap, but that comes for a reason. The Hypertech is not good for much else other then gear ratio and thermostat changes. I would just hold off and either use the money towards a better programmer or a mail-order tune.

save your $100, then save another 300-400 and get hptuners! it'll benefit you more in the long run, if you plan on going the h/c route.
