I cant get the same answer from anyone what gears are stock in a 99 TA?

I think it can range from 2.73's, 3.08's, 3.23's or 3.42's. Best way to find out is look at your RPO code in your door and look for one of these values:
GU2 Axle, Rear 2.73 Ratio
GU4 Axle, Rear 3.08 Ratio
GU5 Axle, Rear 3.23 Ratio
GU6 Axle, Rear 3.42 Ratio

I thought the 3.08 rear is in the v-6 f-bodies. M6 is the 3.42

No, he's correct. Technically 3.08's are not an option on any 94-02 F-body, they are standard on v6 f-bodys with A4 transmission. :D I should know, I had one with 3.08's :)

3.42's were optional and came on A4 V6's with the W68 or Y87 package.

V8 F-body's couldn't get 3.08's from the factory however.

Maybe i should have said v8 f-body. but since we are talking about this guys 99 TA i didnt think id needed to include the v6 ?

A4=3.23
M6=3.42

A4 - 3.23 Optional (Standard on SS, Firehawk, WS6)
