Full exhaust question....

OK, once i get my tax money, im buying FLP headers/y-pipe....

im getting a cutout in december....

my origional plan was to get: FLP headers/y-pipe/GMMG catback....

if i get the cutout(putting as far up on the y-pipe as i can, or the beginning of the catback(not sure yet) is it worth getting the GMMG(besides for sound)?

im still EVENTUALLY going to get GMMG, but for right now(alot of omney being spent as it is... is it really worth it?

ps- how does the 3" flowmaster catback sound with LT headers, still deep all the way up, or does it get raspy?

thanks
cory

Re: Full exhaust question....

I think its worth it, i've got the same setup ur going to get, whenever i get subframes i'm getting the cutout welded on at the same time. A cutout alone might get too loud, its already loud without the cutout and attracts attention. But FLP and cutout is gonna get the cops all over u i'm sure because i don't think it gets quiet even when ur not on it. Cutouts give u more performance on the top end where as the catback will give u better performance on the low end. When i was deciding on which exhaust to go for, i was thinkin of getting the quietest/non stock exhaust i could find and getting the cutout to make it loud when i want it to be but decided against it because the cutout is going to be too raspy i think. I still want the cutout to get it even louder whenever i feel like it, but driving on a cutout only is going to be very loud.

Re: Full exhaust question....

if you want a quiet catback for when the cutout is closed, skip the flowmaster and go with the hooker catback...sounds just as good and flows a hell of a lot better (flowmaster cross-flow mufflers are pure crap.)

Check out the Dynomax race welded muffler. Not so loud you can hear yourself scream(only slightly louder than stock),but flows much better.

Re: Full exhaust question....

Flp actually offer cutouts orps that go in place of your standard orps/cats. So you have dual cutouts, one for each header. Just something you may want to look into.

Re: Full exhaust question....

I have a flowmaster american thunder catback for sale if you want it.
One cut on it and it'll fit on your car.
O, and it has the optional stainless steel tips.
Let me know.

Get the exaust you want the FIRST time, ive had 3 different catbacks, flowmaster, borla, then SLP loundmouth, now i havea bullett turned down before it goes over the axle which im going to stay with for good. I always wanted the GMMG but never wanted to spend so much on one, now i wish i had with all the catbacks ive wasted money on.
