First mods to do to 2000 Z
I just bought a 2000z and plan on putting long tube headers on it and slp loudmouth exhaust and a vig 3600 stall and some 3:73's but what kind of headers and does the slp loudmouth sound good on ls1's. Just want some advice i have always owned lt1's.

I just got back from Carlisle, PA from the all GM Nationals/Camaros at Carlisle. I was talking to Tom Henry of Tom Henry's racing as well as Matt Murphy (GMMG) and the guys from Berger (Berger Chevrolet). To give you a small backround of theses guys they are the Yenko(69's Camaros)guys of the LS1's. I purposly asked about headers for my car and what kind are the best as for mods on my car. They have done extensive research on these LS1's. What makes them click, what gives the most HP...etc. They basically told me that headers would not give me any gain in HP. Just a full weekend of installing them.
I know that Matt M. was working hand in hand with Dale Earnhardt (before his death) on performance for his line of Camaros. He wanted to go to Rouch Racing and leave a big smokin burnout right in front of Jack Rouch's shop. In my opinion I would first get some sub frame connectors for your car. They do make a difference in the car (especially if you have T-tops, no mre rattle). I have Kenny Brown Double Diamond SFC on my car. Check out my signature for my mods. Rims and tires are next for me. Thinking about 17inch Torque Thrust II for it. I hope this helps. Again it all a matter of what YOU want to do to YOUR car. Don't let anyone change that for you. ------------------ Carrie 2000 Z28 LS1, Navy Blue Metallic, T-tops, Eagle GSC, 6 Speed Hurst Shifter, 12 Disk CD Changer, Carbon Fiber Letters, Whisper Air Lid, K&N Filter,MBA Aluminum Grill Inserts, MBA Aluminum Pedals, MBA Blue MAF Ends, Corsa Exhaust, Power Slot rotors, Hawk Pads, Kenny Brown Sub Frame Connectors, Hotchkis strut bar Polished, More to come? |

I have a 2000 Z28 and if I were to do it again, my mods would go like this:
Pro 5.0 Shifter Air induction Lid Cut-out or cat-back Headers Pulley LCAs and Panhard Rod Sticky Tires Nitrous? ------------------ 2000 Z28 with minor mods |
The first mod ANY F-body owner should do is subframe connectors. These cars need them. I would get subframe connectors and an STB at the same time. I know they're not as fun or exciting as exhaust or intake, but they are extremely helpful.

SFCs!! Trust me. I always recommend them as one of the first "must do" mods...If you're looking for an entire suspension package..I just posted one killer deal on the "GP" forum. Check it out... http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif
