Fipk Or Lid?

I have a 98 camaro ss with the m6 and am thinking about getting the K&N FIPK. What do you guys think of this induction kit. Im not sure if I should get this or the lid or the stealth air box. Let me know what you guys have see for results from these. If you have any track times let me know. I like the k&N kit but I am not sure how it would work with the Stock ss ram air hood and it seems like it would suck in alot of hot air and would get dirty fast.

Lid - cheaper than a FIPK ... agreed ... of course you still have to buy a filter, a cleaning kit, an air breather (for certain years and depending upon the lid) and you still have the stock bellows.

Lid - Easier to install than a FIPK... not really, fitment problems are common with a lid, both on the seal around the filter and over the MAF. It is often a struggle to fit the coupling over the MAF and it has been known to crack during the installation ... some brands are more susceptable than others.

Lid performance ... Not even in the ball park of an FIPK. Lids are typically in the 8-14 rwhp range, expect about 10. The FIPK is in the 18-24rwhp range ... I got 22rwhp over stock ...

Good Luck

Hmmm... I thought FIPK hp ratings were all over the place... lid was supposed to be much more consistant.
